Cobra Fitness Club Hike
“Unconventional” is one way to describe Mark Hunter’s playful approach to the Cobra Fitness club. Known exclusively by his nickname, the Cobra Snake, he might be the most enthusiastic athlete blazing the Hollywood Hills. “Witness the Fitness” is his motto and he certainly assumes the role in Richard Simmons-like fashion. His vigorous nature can be seen (and heard) for miles, blasting pop hits from a handheld speaker, clad in tie-dye shirts, spandex, bright running shoes — items sold in his self-titled store on Highland in Los Angeles, The Cobra Shop.
When Cobra began his fitness surge, the mission was simple: create a community-like environment for those who were interested in getting in shape while enjoying the great outdoors. Using his reach on social media and traditional word-of-mouth marketing, Cobra has created a fitness revolution, attracting people from all walks of life to join his passion for fitness and healthy lifestyle. It’s always somewhat of a mystery who will show up, but there is never a shortage of personality. Last week, we joined Cobra and our good friend Luke Davis to experience what it’s like being the center of attention while jamming up the Griffith Park trail.
